This year, we'll host three "Eat A Rainbow" Family Nights to build a community culture of "it's fun to try fruits and vegetables!" Our first event will focus on red, orange and yellow produce. After student presentations about their favorite fruits and veggies, families will visit stations and participate in interactive activities. Strawberries, raspberries, red beets, butternut squash, bell peppers, persimmons, yellow summer squash, pineapple... we'll try them all, and take our favorite recipes home afterward!
Together, we hope to develop greater awareness of our local community gardens, and more openness and enjoyment of fruits & veggies as part of our daily diets. We are so thankful for the support of Blue Diamond Growers and Kaiser Permanente Greater Sacramento Community Benefit Programs in making this project possible!
