Brian Heller de Leon is the Executive Director of The GreenHouse. Brian is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary and U.C. San Diego. Brian's previous work experiences include student ministry in the U.S. and Mexico with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, faith-based community organizing in diverse congregations with the PICO National Network, and policy advocacy in the Capitol with the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice. Brian and his wife Christie attend River Life Covenant Church and have lived in the Tahoe Park neighborhood of Sacramento since 2006. They are very busy enjoying new life in their family with the recent arrival of Carolina Joy and the many new adjustments for her big sister Anna.
Alfredo "Chito" Rosado is the Director of Youth Programs for The GreenHouse. Chito came to The GreenHouse in the spring of 2011with over 10 years of experience working with urban youth as a teacher, pastor, and counselor. Chito's desire is to "love and believe in every youth I encounter." Chito grew up in South Sacramento and graduated from Epic Bible College in 2004 with a degree in Ministerial Studies. In his free time, Chito loves playing basketball or baseball and enjoys watching Wipe Out, old episodes of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and the Godfather Trilogy. He and his wife Norma live in Natomas.
Deborah Blanco is the Director of Elementary Programs for The GreenHouse. Deborah grew up in Salinas and moved to Sacramento in 2008 to attend CSU Sacramento. Deborah graduated in May 2011 with a B.A. in Social Work and soon after began working at The GreenHouse as an Americorps Summer Associate and then as our year-long VISTA. After doing a terrific job with our youth, Deborah was hired back as our Director of Elementary Programs. Deborah enjoys reading, eating, international social work and traveling. Deborah loves to spend time with her large family of nine and is passionate about working with communities that are under-resourced.
Josiah Gorter is the new Community Liaison for The GreenHouse, in his role as the year-round Americorps VISTA dedicated to our organization. He was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI and recently graduated from Calvin College with a degree in Philosophy and Psychology. Josiah is also helping lead "The Grace House", a new missional community program of the Christian Reformed Church. This house is intended for recent college graduates looking to make a difference in their community. Josiah has always had a passion for working with children, and for creating opportunities for young people to improve their situations. He has children’s ministries in the past in both Grand Rapids and Detroit, and is looking forward to helping The GreenHouse impact the lives of young people in Sacramento.
